Translation Theory – General Outline/notes Source Text / Target Text Better than Original /translation

چکیده
The question and the problem of EQUIVALENCE is not simply a formal and linguistic issue, but a cultural, ideological and even “political” one, and the translator has to become a “communicator”, and not simply the bringer of a “linguistic” uni tinto another “linguistic” unti . Basil HATIM and IAN MASON in The Translator as Communicaton (1997) argue that the division of the subject into literary and non-literary, technical and non-technical and so on, is unhelpful and misleading. Instead of dwelling on these differentials, the authors focus on what common ground exists between these distinctions. As a consequence, the translatoer works as a sort of “cultural mediator”.
